The Teen & Adult Taekwondo Program at Dragon Yong-in Martial Arts is available for students ages 11 and up. Classes consist of physical conditioning and technical training. Physical conditioning consists of stretching, cardio workouts, and strength training. Technical training is broken down into several categories: basic moves (stances, blocks, and strikes), basic kicking, combination kicking, official WTF poomse (form), sparring, breaking, and self-defense.
For teenagers, this program allows them to engage in social activities within a positive environment. They are taught to be responsible with the skills they have learned and how to reject negative peer pressure. Furthermore, this program helps to give them confidence and a drive to succeed.
This program is specifically designed to promote physical fitness, give them a deeper understanding of Tae Kwon Do, and to promote healthy relationships both at school and at home.
For adults, this program helps to maintain a good level of physical fitness. Tae Kwon Do is great for both cardio and strength training while also improving balance, coordination, and flexibility. Training also provides a way for adults to keep themselves challenged both physically and mentally.
Even older & senior students benefit from training. No matter what age a person is when they start, our highly trained masters and instructors work hard to develop a program tailor-made to the individual needs of each of their students. That means that students will continue to achieve results in a friendly, positive, and safe environment.
